Powered by two 575 hp Caterpillar engines the Maverick boat easily reaches and maintains speeds of up to 42 knots. The Maverick can hold eight anglers and still deliver a fast, smooth ride, and give everyone lots of room to work the hookups. With state-of-the-art GPS, fish-finders, rigging, and one of the most functional and comfortable fighting chairs you will every fish from, and the Maverick also has a large, very accessible live bait wells, as well as an incredible fly-bridge features.
The Maverick is one of the most comfortable well equipped boats of its class with kitchen, toilet, bed, multimedia system, and stores of safety equipment.
The electronic equipment on the Maverick is also top shelf and can target billfish, tuna, snapper, dorado, roosterfish, grouper, and many other species populate the central Pacific waters.
Maverick Sportfishing Yachts are designed and built just around the corner from the famous Los Sueños Resort and Marina, Costa Rica’s hottest fishing location. The boats continue to evolve but basic design that put this craft into the top rated boats category has remained intact; the Maverick is a proven fish raiser.
Let’s take a closer look at one of the latest Maverick designs, the 43’ Geaux Fly to get an idea at what makes these deep sea sportfishing boats so special.
The 43’ Geaux Fly sportfishing boat has kept the famous Maverick design but moves this class of boat into the next dimension in terms of functionality, aesthetic features, and comfort. Its twin 575 hp Caterpillar C9 engines let you cruise at 26 knots while turning 2,150 rpm and burning 36 gph, and easily at 31 knots at 2,500 rpm. It can top out at over 42 knots and usually burn less than 100 gallons of fuel a day.
Built with triple planked laurel in the hull and bottom makes the 43’ Geaux Fly Maverick very light yet exceptionally strong. This design feature benefits not only the ride but also the crafts ¬efficiency. Below the waterline the curved transom is designed to lift the transom as the boat pushes water in reverse, this this improves hard maneuvering required keeping the boat lined on the rapidly changing battle condition when fighting a big powerful billfish.
Identified as one the most aesthetically pleasing boat on the waters, the Mavericks’ appeal exceeds all expectation. The finished in teak and stunning Nicaraguan mahogany offset and really pop against the clean white accents and upholstery green elegance. The raw woods used on these yachts are directly from the jungles of Costa Rica and are crafted in the design for both efficiency and functionality, such as the teak footrests add a beautiful accent but are well positioned so they don’t get in the way while moving around; all these unique touches blends to create one most spectacular fishing machine in the world.
Thought went to every aspect of the Maverick design, another good example is the Tuna Tubes which are placed within their own hatches both port and starboard-sides covering boards, below the outriggers perfect for setting up live-baits when marlin fishing. A bait freezer tucked under the starboard berth and tackle drawers below the portside berth provided added storage.
Mezzanines are placed on both sides of the cockpit; with the icebox below, well placed tackle drawers and a rigging station are placed under the starboard-side mezzanine. A flow-through baitwell is set in the sole beside the pedestal and so there is no need for pumps. For overnight fishing trips the dinette and bench switch up quickly providing added bunk space and the microwave set behind the freezers rises with push button from the mahogany countertop again maximizing space. The accommodations below are clean and efficient optimized for full day trips fishing.
The design of the center-console area allows access around the bridge. The twin benches flank either side of the helm pod with convenient two-person seat placed up front.
